Air Duct
The Air duct too is made out of cardboard, it won't be effected by any real bad weather or anything else, so no need to make it out of fiberglass or plastic. I had to do the air duct this way because I have fog lights installed on my bimmer, hence I can't put a tube behind the fog light's opening and direct air from there to the air filter!
I had to take the cardboard (only one peace, the one on the right in the image below) and put it under the spoiler to match it's curve and then shade it with a pencil so that I can cut it later and make the other peace too.
I am not sure if I need to give you the dimensions of everything, but you should be able to do it just by trying to get the best fit of the air duct on your spoiler. But if anyone needs them, I can put them here.
Fig1. An overview of the air routing duct. Its easy to do with shipping card board. But you must get accurate design.
Fig2. A view of it and how it should be on your spoiler. imagine the plastic mesh in front of it.
Fig3. same as above
Fig4. A rear view of the air duct. I know...I used a Bringles chips cylinder for this, but the real thing was a good tube to direct air, of course all the small openings around the cylinder were closed.
The design of the air duct is finished, but we still need a couple things, from my experience it seems that it is best to make a mount for this air duct so that with high speeds it won't just fall of the spoiler. My first thought was to glue it on the spoiler with Silicon, but I remembered that it might not hold on in high speeds, so I thought why not make a mount for it.
Since I have not finished it, I'll post it later. But for now, having a heatshield and a performance filter is enough, cold air is already getting through, but if we can make more cold air go through, why not!
